Christopher G. Addy

Christopher G. Addy, Partner, is a graduate of Southwestern University School of Law, Los Angeles, California and is licensed to practice law before the California Supreme Court, as well as all Superior Courts of California. In addition to all California State Courts, Chris is licensed to practice before the United States Federal District Courts for the Eastern, Northern, Southern and Central Districts of California.

As CLGLA's other partner, Chris oversees all litigation matters for the firm, and creates the insolvency documents filed with the United States Bankruptcy Court. He devotes equal time to the firm’s business clients and family law clients, strategizing to obtain for clients the best result, always in the best interests of the client.

While attending law school at night, Chris worked for several years as an Office Manager / Law Clerk at a boutique firm specializing in Auto Subrogation and other General Civil Litigation matters. After law school, Chris has practiced for almost four years in several areas of law including Bankruptcy, Collections, FDCPA/FCRA, Insurance Defense, Construction Defect, Personal Injury, Inverse Condemnation and Products Liability.

Chris has a well-rounded consumer oriented skill set focused on helping businesses and individuals who find they are struggling in these uncertain times. He has personally represented hundreds of consumers in plaintiff-side FDCPA/RFDCPA actions throughout California, in both Federal and State Courts, and has acted as a Consulting Attorney on multiple Federal Actions on a nationwide basis.

Chris has also represented multiple homeowners in foreclosure defense with efforts focused on injunctive litigation. Prior to forming Collins Law Group, LLP with Marc, he witnessed firsthand the multiple abuses that many consumers face with respect to predatory lending and other abuses within the industry.

As a result of the current financial/real estate crisis, Chris learned a great deal about scams and other inappropriate activities to which many fall victim. With the enactment of Senate Bill 94, and other related legislation, Chris had to become an expert in uncovering the predatory issues faced by many consumers, that are operated by multiple “scam” operations offering grandiose promises and assertions that simply aren’t true.

Such scams include everything from improper “credit repair”, fraudulent transfers of property, improper bankruptcy filings to stall a home sale date with little hope of success or without the homeowner’s consent/knowledge, to many other schemes apparently designed only to part consumers with their hard earned money under the guise of “protecting” them. In reality, most of the companies/firms that offer such “services” are nothing more than fly-by-night operations designed to prey on consumers in their most perilous hours of need.

After milking clients for exorbitant fees, many of these companies fail to deliver on the “promises” and do little, if anything, in the way of truly assisting their clients in the long run.

CLGLA was purposely designed from the ground up with a completely different approach in mind.
